Huh? What? Yep, today I was the (fairly) happy recipient of a free lunch. Oh, how, you ask? Well, my office is within walking distance of a shopping center and I venture over that way pretty often. They have a good amount of eateries and such including a Chinese buffet, American buffet, Indian grocery and a Subway. Well I typically go to the Subway because… well… I TRY to eat healthy!
So today I go to Subway and order my usual veggie patty wrap… (veggie patty, provolone, lettuce, pickles, cucumber, sweet peppers, sweet onion sauce, salt, pepper & oregano… … … tasty, no?) like I have for about a month straight (but for the past 2 weeks I have had a few issues) and today it resulted in a free lunch!
After the order was completed and I was about to pay, something happened where the girl got confused and forgot that I said “Sweet Onion Sauce” and instead put on “Southwestern Sauce”… she also tore the living heck out of my patty while trying to wrap it. I told the gal at the register that it was cool and that it didn’t matter… I mean, I was gonna eat it anyway, the Southwest Sauce isn’t that bad… but she decided that it was okay to take my card back and refund my money for the lunch!
So with a semi-pleased look on my face I said thank you very much and exited Subway… wondering whether or not I’d go back tomorrow… maybe I’ll hit up that Chinese buffet? =)
Well, not really moving moving, but we’re going to a new host. My good friend Fotios is helping me out with some hosting. So if you see some quirkiness on the pages, don’t worry, it’s being handled and the site should be up and running 100% soon!
It was a good weekend. By Friday I had the new look for the site set up and ready to go. I still need to add content to a few sections but overall the site is there. Friday night we went out with some friends and I had the opportunity to meet up with a few other creative types!
So i have been getting some copy together for this site in order to make it more readable for browsers and search engines and I came across my friend Nick’s blog and what he wrote about the story last year… aside from being a great little snippet about Endure, his girlfriend, Emily added a comment and what she wrote really needs to be said again and added a post of it own… I don’t know if I ever really thanked them for their posting, so at this time I will give my sincerest thanks to Nick and Emily for their support and for the following words of wisdom:
“As designers, we all have creative ambitions that we keep tucked somewhere in the back of our minds, hoping that someday we will have the time/energy/resources to make those dreams a reality.
Chad’s endeavor has made me realize a few things:
1) nothing is worth doing/selling/designing unless there is a clear mission or purpose;
2) success requires commitment & determination to fulfill the mission – passion without clear direction is not enough;
3) if there is something worth doing, it is worth doing now.”
